European law has clearly emphasized the responsibility of boards and audit committees in over-sighting and monitoring risk management, internal control and internal audit. Following the financial crisis internal auditing becomes one of the cornerstones of organizational governance.The European Confederation of Directors’ Associations (ecoDa) and the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing (ECIIA) joined forces to build a practical guidance for Directors and audit committee members to enhance the added value of internal audit function and they proposed to comment this new practical tool together.
