The latest ecoDa EU Update has been released, featuring key legislative developments and a letter from our Director General:

  • The Executive Vice-President Séjourné has released a letter, co-signed by business leaders, on 2nd February, promoting a “Made in Europe” approach, to strengthen Europe’s industrial capacity. The ambitious reform agenda includes the Industry Accelerator Act, to be presented at the end of February.
  • The proposed “28th regime” is positioned as a flagship initiative by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and was reaffirmed at Davos. The objective is to create a truly European company structure (“EU Inc.”), based on a single, simple, and uniform set of rules applicable across all Member States.
  • Improving efficiency and reducing corporate reporting burdens remain central EU objectives. In its response to the Better Regulation consultation, ecoDa advocates reducing the number of delegated and implementing acts and ensuring that essential and policy- relevant elements are addressed directly in basic legislative acts, in order to enhance legal certainty.
